Seeking Myself and Looking for Life Through Bariatric Surgery

Hello. My name is Connie and this is the second time I have sought help with SparkPeople. I am 48 years old and currently preparing to have Gastric Bypass Surgery with the team at the Center for Weight Loss Surgery at Saint Joseph East in Lexington Kentucky. Hello. My name is Connie and this is the second time I have sought help with SparkPeople. I am 48 years old and currently preparing to have Gastric Bypass Surgery with the team at the Center for Weight Loss Surgery at Saint Joseph East in Lexington Kentucky. At my heaviest weight I was 404 pounds...that was in March 2000. In 2011 I was down to 298. Today (8/8/2013) I weighed in at 352. When I began my journey with the Weight Loss Center I weighed 361...I had gained 63 pounds in 2 years! I have only lost 9 pounds since then, but I hope to be able to do better by utilizing all that SparkPeople has to offer; especially the friendships I hope to establish, which is VERY MUCH NEEDED! I do not have a a great deal of strong/encouragement and I am not the type of person who is self-motivated, so this is a very trying endeavor for me.

The Positive Weight Loss Approach

Once you have made up your mind to lose weight, you should make that commitment and go into it with a positive attitude. We all know that losing weight can be quite a challenge. In fact, for most of us, it can be downright tough. It takes time, practice and support to change lifetime habits. But it's a process you must learn in order to succeed. This morning I want you to take a few moments and take a good long look in the mirror! emoticon Reflect for a bit on the progress you are making along this journey! The goals you have met and the goals you have set for the road ahead. If you are looking at many more pounds to lose and having no idea how to do it or even if you are worth the effort. Believe me, YOU are worth the effort. You are soooo worth the effort. You WANT to feel this good! You WANT to feel good about yourself! You WANT to feel sexy and the woman you have always desired to be! You are young and strong and created to do great things! Do NOT let another year go by at this weight. THIS is YOUR time! Shine on my Spark friend!!!!! Go for everything you want for yourself, do not feel like it is a selfish thing to want to be slimmer and healthier! Everyone around you will benefit by you being a stronger, healthier and more radiant you! It is a win - win!!!! Now, go get what you want and don't take no for an answer!
