Back to the beginning again. I don't know what it is in my brain that scuppers my much yearned for intentions to lose some weight.

It's as if I have to go through periods of inertia and stuffing myself, even though I am desperate to lose the weight. All through January I tried and failed, finding myself needing the warmth of crumpets, the comfort of mashed potato and gravy, and also lots of lovely wine to help the cold, dark evenings pass comfortably.

Anyway, it's lighter now and that's definitely helping. It's still cold - but spring is in sight I feel. Also I have a trip to Madeira coming up in April, and holidays are a great way to focus the mind on ridding the excess that will be on show...

I've decided to go down the Atkins diet route. I know that carbohydrates really aren't my friend, but I've been ignoring that - because I like them! I did think about Lighter Life, but I want to eat and I can't afford it anyway. Atkins seems to offer some of the same ideas - I'm learning a lot about ketosis - and it appears that I can hope to lose weight at a faster rate than most low calorie diets. Anyway, I shall see how it goes for the next few weeks. Hopefully, the scales will go down for a change!

I would like to lose about 3 stone by the time I go to Turkey this summer!



My Program:
I am on a low fat diet and trying to cut out/ down the wine.

I try and exercise about 5 days a week. This includes walking, swimming, cycling, gym and soon - zumba!
