Let's be neighbors!!!

* Waves hand * Well hello there! It's nice of you to stop by. :) Would you like to sit and chat for a while?

I'm Francine, but you can call me Franny if you'd like. It's nice to meet you! Have you been here long? I have been in the neighborhood for a few years now, but have taken a few vacations (none of which were very relaxing) my most recent one being a little over a year. I'm slowly moving back in though. It's good to be back. The neighbors here are really nice and friendly ...

The neighbors here are really nice and friendly people :)

I would really like to get to know you, so please tell me a little about yourself!

Let me tell you a little about me:

As I have mentioned, I'm Franny. I am about to turn 28 soon. I'm shy and quiet until I get to know someone. Once I get comfortable with you and open my shell, you'll notice I am a pretty friendly person who can become a real good friend! :)

I began this journey because my sister was nagging me to make some changes to my lifestyle. Unfortunately I have inherited all the unfavorable genes. Short, chunky, low metabolism, . . yay, no not really, but I can't complain too much, since I have pretty good health considering and I am in better shape (health wise) than some of my more "fit" friends.

Every time I reach a plateau, I take a vacation. This last trip made me realize how much I really hate these vacations. While I was gone it did some good though. I did a lot of thinking, made a few decisions (most were good), definitely exercised. I even pushed myself further than I wanted to go!! Trained for and completed my first 5k!!! (Actually ran most of the 5k walk/run (*highfives*) and enjoyed it! Yes I enjoyed running, and it wasn't because I was running away from a rabid wild animal!!)

And now I have decided to return home to SparkPeople to face my fears. I am going to take the next step and enter the world of charts, graphs and journals!!! It scares me, but I know I am strong enough to overcome this fear, especially with the wonderful people here and all my family and friends who encourage me. Thank you all!!!

I have always been able to motivate my friends, but when it comes to myself not so much. I really do believe that I am way too hard on myself. I tend to be a perfectionist when it comes to myself, and I won't allow myself to fail. But then I remembered this paper my teacher passed out on the first day of school in 8th grade science class. It was a nice letter written like a poem by a wise person on how failure isn't necessarily a bad thing, but a learning opportunity! The tile was "Don't Be Afraid Of Failure." The lesson behind it was without failure, trial & error and the determination to try again and succeed, your not really learning anything. I am going to take this as a sign and run with it. I have failed in the past and "went on vacation" and now I am back driven by determination and ready to succeed!!

Thanks for taking the time to read my mini novel, sorry it was so long. Feel free to stop by anytime and leave a message or comment if you'd like.

Although I am shy I don't bite, I promise!!!!

It wouild be awesome to stay in touch. I am originally from MA so I am familiar with the customs and weather on the East Coast. I am sorry I haven't responded sooner, having major computer problems. Still waiting to get more resolved. What did we do without cell phone and computers? I had a clean house. LOL Bev emoticon
