Getting myself going

I am in the process of figuring who I am & what I want. I just ended a 5 year relationship. My daughter is graduating from high school this spring & then leaving me for college. I work at a gourmet kitchen store, where I sell high end kitchen gadgets & demo different kinds of food. I have hypothyroidism & HBP & a soy allergy. I have changed my whole diet around. I am looking forward to figuring out different strategies to lose weight & get healthier. I am going back to college this Fall to get a degree in Nutritional Science. I go hiking in the hills of Missouri with my rottie, Sasha. I love dogs, care about the environment & I volunteer a lot. I am a member of the 'Slowest Loser Club' because it takes me a long time to lose a pound.

My Goals:
My goal here is to get healthier. I want to get back to 130 pounds. It is the weight that I looked & felt the best at. This time I want to actually have some muscles though, not just be thin.

I am working very hard these days. My goal is to burn 3600 calories a week. I have been reaching that goal the past 3 weeks.

My nutrition goal is staying between 1200-1550 calories. I have been making this goal consistently for a while now. Learning to eat a protein 4 times a day.

My Program:
Right now I am concentrating on myself & what I am putting into my body. I have set a goal of doing 40-60 minutes of cardio exercise everyday. The exercise can be done at home or at the gym. I have set up a separate goal of walking my dog 6 miles a week. I am trying to get both of us in shape for the spring hiking season.

Personal Information:
My name is Cindy. I am 41 yrs old. I live in Creve Coeur, Missouri. I have an 18 year old daughter named Megan. I have a 2 year old Rottweiler named Sasha.

Other Information:
I love animals, especially dogs & horses. I volunteer a lot for animal welfare organizations. I am a positive person inspite of life's ups & downs.

Hi Cindy,

I saw you at the Whole Foods group! We are almost the same age. Looks like we have some things in common. My baby girl is 17 and leaving me for college too.. :( I love my dogs though and I love being outside. I guess we'll have more time to figure out the things that we enjoy.

Thanks for the comment on my blog :) it's got to be one of the most amazing feelings, seeing and feeling progress for yourself.
