The Journey

I am a Christian lady married to my high school sweetheart, (yeah, I know, we were just babies, but hey, it's worked out really well for us!). I have two adult children, one married, one single. I love traveling and seeing new sights. Being outdoors is one of my favorite activities, whether it's hiking, snowshoeing, camping, working in the yard/garden or just hanging out in the hammock, it's all good.

My Goals:
My goal is to be healthy and fit.
I'd like to be able to hike a 14ner. (that's a mountain that's over 14,000 feet tall-it's a Colorado thing).
I DID IT!!! I DID IT!!! I DID IT!!!
July 27, 2013 Handies Peak above Lake City, Colorado 14,058 feet

My Program:
I am going to the gym four days a week, walking on the treadmill at LEAST 6 miles at 4.5 (and up to 5) mph and lifting weights for 35 minutes. I am watching what I eat, keeping the calorie count between 1200 and 1650 a day.

Personal Information:
I am married to a wonderful man. The past three years we have been teaching a marriage and relationship class based on the"Love and Respect" book and DVD series. It has been a blessing watching God work in marriages and change lives.

Other Information:
I am so thankful for Jesus. I am a born again Christian believer. I'm far, far from perfect, I'm trying to grow and be more what He wants me to become. Even when I fail, He still loves me and is always ready to pick me up, dust me off, and put me back on the right track. For that I am GRATEFUL.

For some reason I thought you lived somewhere else, but your kids were in Co. Sounds like a great plan for your vacation especially in light of your year. I hope you take lots of pictures. I have never been to Hawaii, but I love seeing the sunrises, sunsets, and of course all the delicious fruit people eat. All of which to say, I hope there will be a blog post once you get back and your laundry is done!

Hope all is well with you.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Two days past hike up mountain and my thighs are really feeling it. I thought I would be o.k. since we had been walking and I've done squats. Not so for me ! Husband who has bad knees even did well. Hmmm...

Another big hike planned next week. Weather permitting. Up one mountain across the mountain ridge and then back down another mt.

Hope you have a good day !
