10/15/12- update... WOW a lot has changed :) since December. For starters... I gained back about 15-20 pounds and on May 24, 2012 I was 285.6 pounds. That was the day I changed my life forever. The day I FINALLY decided I was worth the money it would cost to join Weight Watchers, even though I was already paying for a gym membership. I was worth it. I am happy to report that in 20 weeks on the PointsPlus program I have lost 30 POUNDS! Yes...30 as in 1.5 pounds per week! Yes ME! Further, I ...

The meetings keep me accountable and my leader Kathy Lambert is phenomenal!
I am doing this and you can too!

I have been on SparkPeople since May 2008... sad to say I STILL have not accomplished my 100 pound weight loss goal. I can sit here and type every excuse in the world as to why but you know what? I'll STILL be right where I am.
Excuses are dead and have been for me since May 2011. I have done so much since then. I all but eliminated processed foods (still cheat sometimes), I've become super active (Zumba RELIGIOUSLY, I'm at 5 days/week now), and I'm working on myself as a whole (as a writer, poet, spiritually).
I have gone from 309 pounds to 270 pounds. 39 pounds looks miniscule especially since I have a 100 pound goal. I am 66 pounds away and you know what? That doesn't look as huge a number as 100 :) By next summer I should be well on my way to that 100 pound mark.
The plan is to invert my eating (largest meal at breakfast, eat starches only once per day also at breakfast), continue to Zumba 5 days a week, focus on my whole body including my mind and spirituality.
I haven't been using SparkPeople like I should and I noticed that when I was using it, I was successful at hitting weight loss goals. I'm back! I'm ready! I will shed this weight!
Ask and He Gives
I asked God for strength, he gave me troubles to make me strong.
I asked for wisdom and God gave me problems to solve.
I asked for prosperity and God gave me brain and brawn.
I asked God for courage and God gave me danger to overcome.
I asked for love and God gave me troubled people to help.
I asked for favors and God gave me opportunities.
I received nothing I wanted.
I got everything I needed.
