Hello, My name is Azara I am 22 yrs of age. I have always been heavy set stright from childhood, ( i get it from my father's side lol) but I am now a mother of a beautiful 5 month out who fought for his life and survived a rare condition , now i feel it is my duty to better my health and fight to take my life back so i can be here for my son in the future.

Hi, Azara! emoticon to SP! This program is very different from all those diets that didn't work. This is a real life style change, that if you follow it and stick to it, you definitely will reach your goals.

I just visited your page, and I see that you are off to a great start - you've designed your page, joined some teams, and even wrote your first blog! emoticon

The best way to make friends that can support and encourage you is by posting on the message boards on your teams. You mentioned that you would like to meet other moms - search around the teams page and you can find lots of teams for young moms.... you might want to look at the team "Moms w/ Special needs Children" or "Time for those with kids with Special Needs".

And for yourself, probably the two most important things to do to achieve success are to track your food every day (we usually consume more calories than we realize!!) and to exercise every day - you can start out slow - 15 or 20 min. a day - and work up to more as you feel ready.

Howdy Chubbie and welcome to Spark People. You need support (we all do) and you will find it here! And will power - whatever that is - you will grow along with strength and courage and confidence. I, too, have failed at many diets so trust me when I say this is different - it is not a diet. This is a lifestyle change, designed to last for the rest of your life AND something you can pass on to your kids. There are Teams for folks who share interests and challenges in common so you are sure to find new mommies with little ones who have challenges. There is nothing like the support of fellow Sparkers! You can do this! Be sure to read member blogs, especially those folks who have overcome challenges. Spark ON!
