My name is Christy Beck. I am 35 years old, happily married, mother of 4 wonderful children. I have battled with my weight for the last 18 years. I think I have tried every diet there is...good and bad. I was bulemic for about 15 years and sought help for this about 2 years ago. I have been working on problems on the inside for so long now that I feel I have completely neglected the outside. Weightloss has been extremely difficult for me. I exercise regularly, watch what I eat and see little or no progress. It is very frustrating and has become a reason for depression in my life. I feel that I have possiblly wrecked my body from some of the stupid things I have done in the past to try to lose weight and it now seems impossible. I hear many people tell stories of little changes they make in their daily routines which have led to dramatic weight loss. I have educated myself on a healthy lifestyle and tried to incorporate many little changes into my everyday life with little or no results. Although I feel better physically, I just want to feel comfortable in my own skin and know what it feels like to love myself and have enought confidence to walk with my head held high.

My Goals:
To live a healty lifestyle and lose 50-70 lbs this year.


My Program:
I keep a journal and track my daily calories intake and exercise. I consume no more than 1500 calories a day and exercise at least an hour a day 5 days a week. I mix up my exercise routine. I do 30 mins of Tae Bo, Wii Fit Plus, yoga, Slim in Six workouts to keep it exciting...I tend to get bored easily. I have recently joined a Biggest Loser Contest in my area which is extra motivation and support.

I live in Southern Illinois.Married, working mother of 4.


Other Information:
I enjoy cooking, reading, and hanging out with my family. Two of my daughters are very active, so I enjoy watching sporting events and any school activities they are involved in. To relax, I usually have grab a magazine or book, a glass of wine, and turn on HGTV!

If not, what can you change today that will help you feel accomplished? One little thing. Drink more water? Cut out soda? Go for a walk? Small changes add up.

    Hello! I also have four kids and on the contrary to gaining baby weight I gained and retained sympathy weight for my wife! I have been on Spark for a couple of years now and am just now beginning to figure out what works for me. To that effect I am positive I am going to lose between 80 & 100 lbs total this year. I tell you this b/c I am looking for others that need support and that can support ME! Hope you do well in all that you do.

    Hey there! Wow, thanks for message. I joined this about a year ago but am not very good about keeping up with it. I just recently started trying to do better but have slacked of once again. My biggest battle of course is with the bulimia. You said you had it for 15 years but have you recovered yet? I feel sometimes like I will never heal and so I just keep asking God to help me get over this disease. I am going on 20 or more years now. It started when I lived in Germany with my first husband but not quit sure why. I remember I had it when I was pregnant with my first child and now she is almost 20. I have been to a few shrinks and been on meds which I dont like cause they make me sleepy. And now I am premenopausel and I have thyroid disease. So I have all these odds against me and I have the same thing. Watch what I eat, workout and see little or no change. It baffles my mind! My hubby and I started really watching what we eat since the new year and he has lost ten pounds. I lost about a pound and a half and now it came back. I too am a health freak, love to work-out and give advise to people. But darned if I know what I am missing!! I think its a combination of everything but really how much exercise do you need or how many calories is baffling. I also love the Biggest Loser and would love to go to that ranch!!     You have the key to success in your grasp. The difference in who is successful and who isn't is that those of us who are fail but we don't give up. When we get off plan we get back on as soon as possible. It works. Take your time and explore the site. There is a lot to learn. Try to use the food tracker. It really helps. In the WSIL3 team there are other people from the area.


    We love our way of life. Living in Southern Illinois is nice.
