Making the change I want to be... one day at a time

A Brief Summary

Growing up, I was thin. I never had to worry about my weight, because I could eat anything and not gain even an ounce.

Then, 18 happened. I started having thyroid problems, and since then my weight has gone up to 210 then back down to 150, then up, then down, then up again... Because I never had to worry about healthy eating to stay thin, I didn't know how to handle the yo-yo weight fluctuations.

Oh, and I'm blessed with a mom who is Ukranian and a dad who loves to eat, so there was always plenty of really really good, but not good for you, food growing up.

I've been on Spark People for a while now, and for a while I was doing great for working out, but lacking on the nutritious eating side of things.

Each day I read posts, and write a few (though my computer doesn't always behave so I lose some). Through that, I am getting more and more motivated each day.

Today, I also had someone comment on one of my blog entries and another person write a comment on my spark page. That, more than anything to date has motivated me. Why? Because it really showed me that I'm not lost in cyber space and that people actually do care about me and my goals. Thank you.
