It's a new day...

I feel I am more determined than ever to drop the 59lbs!!!!!!!!! I have added to my 5'4" frame over the last six years! I've been thinking recently how I came back to this point after losing the weight the first time around...life, food, love and over indulgence, I say! ha! I will still have all of those things but, with a healthier, happier...no wait, I'm happy...maybe, content and centered me and a new perception of how to achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

My Goals:
I have a few goals...the first being to learn to love eating healthy. Weird to think at one time I preferred a hamburger over a grilled chicken breast.

Secondly, I want to lose the weight I have put on over the years. I bounced around the mid 180s for far too long. My weight loss mini goals are to get to 150lbs and eventually to 120lbs.

Lastly, I would like to tone up my 'mommy body.' I was not one of the lucky ones who graced through pregnancy unscathed. This body has been used and abused by babies! It was all worth it because they are fabulous, funny, smart, kind children. I don't mind the battle scars, I just want to tighten the sag. ha!

My Program:
My program is basically this...I have cut out ALL fast food and sodas and reduced my caloric/fat/bad carb intake. 95% of the food I eat is prepared from raw by me. I eat protein, veggies with every meal and use fruit as my snack in between. I am moderate hypoglycemic so I have to be careful anyway and this change in habit is protecting me from high sugar/carb foods.

I drink WATER WATER WATER and more WATER daily. I use this as my guide to make sure I am taking in enough but, not to much. I drink half of my body weight in ounces. So, for example, if I weighed 150 lbs, I would drink 75 ounces of water a day!

Personal Information:
Originally from the beautiful bayou state of Louisiana, I transplanted myself in the soulful city of Memphis, TN about 10 years ago. I love it here...the music, the culture, the food...yes, yes, it contributed to my gaining weight.

At 35, I'm in a wonderful place in life with a family I love, children I cherish and a wonderful man who loves me no matter my size. (I prove that this way. At 184 he thought I was beautiful and told me so. When I dropped 10lbs, people started noticing a change in my face. My adoring man said, "You still look the same. You are still pretty." ahhhh So sweet.
