After almost 8 years of yo-yo dieting, I have come to the conclusion that my reasons for losing weight have been superficial and considerably vain. Most of my reasons for losing weight were for vacations, convocations, and weddings. While I mainly wanted to look good for myself, I realize a piece of me didn't want others to see how I was totally out of control. So with a lil Atkins here and workouts there I was 20-50 pounds lighter for a season and a day. Oh but the day after that season, I was on the path to being worse than I started.
It wasn't until recently that I had a revelation from the Lord regarding His will for my life. This revelation presented a new perspective about why it was time to lose the weight. It simply came down to this: God is concerned about my health...why am I not? 3 John 1:2 says He wants me to prosper, be in good health, even as my soul prospers. I am always so concerned about my soul and prosperity that I forget that God is also concerned about my health.
So, here's the bottom line I want Him to be pleased with my life...mind, body, and soul. So, I'm trying again...but now it's for His Glory.
* Lose 50 pounds
*Be active 4-5 times/week
* Lose 4 dress sizes
*Listen to the Spirit when deciding on food choices and consumption
*Eat breakfast, 2 snacks, lunch, and dinner (this is huge because I used to eat one huge meal a day-and visit the vending machines during class breaks)
* Diversify my workouts (Gym, tapes, jogging, tennis, biking, and skating)
In school- on the last degree! Woooo!
