May 2013...time is Flying By
Hello to my fellow sparkpeople members. Can't believe its already May of 2013. Seems like as I get older time just goes by faster and faster. Weight wise, I have hit another sort of plateau. I keep fluctuating between 148-146. I think its cause I lost a bit of momentum and I'm still trying to get it back. However, to think that I've gone from 200lbs to even 148lbs is still pretty spectacular to me. I would never have accomplished it without Sparkpeople, Sparkcoach, my wonderful Sparkfriends, ...
I would never have accomplished it without Sparkpeople, Sparkcoach, my wonderful Sparkfriends, and a very supportive family. It wasn't always easy getting to this point let me tell you. I am pretty terrible when it comes to temptation, but my philosophy in getting here has been to never deprive myself of the foods I enjoy. I knew that if I did I would just give up at some point. For me, its been about moderation, portion control, and tracking. I have pretty much stayed at the low end of my calorie intake during this year (banking calories for weekends when I may want to treat myself). So far, this has seen me through. When I have hit plateaus I simply upped my calorie intake (since I was a 1200 when I began) and then upped how many calories I was burning during the week. Speaking of exercise, I must say I have found some very fun exercises and some that I never want to ever try again. Coach Nicoles workouts are always on the fun list and I have found a power yoga routine that I enjoy as well. Mixing up routines every now and then can help break you out of a plateau and well as break you out of a monotonous exercise pattern. lol. I have also incorporated some walk/jogs into my routine. I had stopped being able to jog for a long time because of the weight. Now I can start jogging and go for a good distance before my lungs feel like they are going to explode. Health wise, the exercise and the better eating (combined with meds) have allowed me to get my outrageous cholesterol under control and I am looking forward to my next appointment where I might be able to get the dosage lowered if the number are still good. All in all, 2012 has been a successful one for weightloss and I am looking for 2013 to be just as successful.
