Striding for Health, One day at a time.

I've battled with weight all my life, but the pounds kept piling on. And on. And on.

In March of 2009 I hit a wall. I could barely zip up my size 20 jeans and I just couldn't face buying a bigger size. At 15st 8lbs (218lbs) I had had enough. I started walking more. I bought a bike (and used it!). I started swimming once a week. In a little over two months I had dropped 1.5stone (20 lbs) and was fitting into a size 18 jean, but the loss stopped there. I did, however, manage to maintain that weight for another 8 months.

In March of 2010 I started to feel those size 18 jeans starting to become snug. I was also starting to have mobility problems due to an old spinal cord injury. I knew I needed to move it or lose it. So here I am. And out walking. And at the gym swimming, strengthening and in group classes.

One day at a time. I am so done with being a fat girl. The fit and healthy girl is kicking into gear.
