I'm not done yet!!

I'm a 67 year old mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Divorced for 14 years.

I just retired on January 31, 2013 and am still adjusting!!

My job was sedentary and I've put on a "LOT" of weight in the last 10 years. I want to lose so I can spend more active time with my children and grandson.

My Goals:
To be healthier and more independent as I grow alder.

My Program:
Eating healthier foods and getting more active as my health allows.

Personal Information:
My mother was born in Italy and my father in Germany. I am an only child and have had to take care of myself most of my adult life. I have had little help. As I get older, I worry about losing my independence.

Other Information:
I love everything about technology. I would say I'm a little "geeky" for someone my age. I have two computers and a new one to be delivered next week, Iphone 5 and a mini Ipad. LOL Maybe I'm beyond geeky!

"Don't let the fear of the time it will take to accomplish something stand in the way of your doing it. The time will pass anyway; we might just as well put that passing time to the best possible use."

If at first you don't succeed-try, try again. Don't think of it as failure. Think of it as timed-release success. - Robert Orben

I have really been trying hard to be an active participant since I joined, but the last two weeks have been a struggle!

My son and his family live with me because their home flooded and was condemned. We have three adults and two children in less than 1000 square feet of living space with one bathroom. Now that isn't meant to be a complaint, it is just for background information:)

In the last two weeks the six year old had the stomach flu, vomiting excetera, which must have led to a weakened immune system, because his first week back at school he got sick again. A trip to the doctor confirmed he has influenza type B:(

Now the whole family is on Tamiflu and my daughter in law seems to have been hit the worst. She is very ill.

At least I had my flu shot and while the Tamiflu does lessen the symptoms, full participation is on hold for now .
