This Time I HAVE to do it!!
Hi! I am Cathy and I live in Stockholm, Sweden. I am originally from Iowa, and my family (except for my husband) is still there. I miss them terribly. When I first joined Spark People, I was at 140 kilo and was hoping to lose at least 50 kilo before I went to my son's wedding in the fall. Well, wedding date changed and I was unable to go. :( I gave up on Spark People, and even a little bit on life. I became quite depressed and in Feb. of last year I developed pneumonia, was hospitalized ...
Hi! I am Cathy and I live in Stockholm, Sweden. I am originally from Iowa, and my family (except for my husband) is still there. I miss them terribly. When I first joined Spark People, I was at 140 kilo and was hoping to lose at least 50 kilo before I went to my son's wedding in the fall. Well, wedding date changed and I was unable to go. :( I gave up on Spark People, and even a little bit on life. I became quite depressed and in Feb. of last year I developed pneumonia, was hospitalized for 11 days, and found out that I am diabetic. Now I had the perfect motivation right? Nope. I have been yo-yo-ing between 120 and 132 ever since. Well, I have decided that I am starting fresh. Around Christmas I lost feeling and a great deal of function from both of my hands. Finally I have heard that the doctor will be operating on my spine in my neck, but have no idea when.(gotta love socialized medicine! In the states I would be recovered by now!). This will be my third neck surgery, fourth spinal surgery, and for the first time I am afraid. They open the front of your neck, move stuff out of the way, and reach in! Oh, the best part! They screw your head to the table so you don't run away I guess... Anyway, with the speedy medical service you get here, I should be able to lose something. I am keeping a food journal HERE, and I also told my husband, so if I cannot do it this time...it is just not in the cards for me. If you read this so far you are a saint, and I thank you!
