Have been fighting the fight my whole life. My weight has been as high as 247...20 yrs ago. I have managed to stay between 190 and 200 for about 8 yrs. Now I am creeping up to 210. I have to get hold of it now!

Here I am, 3 years later still trying. The positive part is that I haven't given up despite challenges. I am on track.

My Goals:
Initially my goal was to decrease my insulin needs. I accomplished that in September, 2009. Now my seconday goal is to start a strength training and flexibility program. Another goal in to continue to lose weight till I feel GREAT.

My Program:
I did have trouble getting started with exercise. As of now I am doing 25 minutes on the treadmill usually 3-5 times a week. I am following the SP calorie range.

Personal Information:
I am a nurse from PA and believe it or not I worked with heart surgery patients for over 20 years. That should have been enough to motivate me, huh?

Often I lose interest before I finish a project. Since the project involved in this is me, I can't allow myself to lose interest. I will become healthier and more fit.

Glad you made it back to Sparkpeople. I also am back after a long absence. So long that I could no longer recall my User ID and/or Password. Started up a new page, which is fine because i'm reaching my goals with a whole new attitude.

Sorry to hear about your knee replacement. I know that since you work in a hospital you know the real deal about such.

Wecome to Walking, Walking, Walking. I hope you join us on the threads. The main emphasis of this team is just to walk for your health and control your blood sugar. I am the leader, but don't lead much. You are welcome to start new threads or join the ones in place.

I will be 62 in October and I am, also still obese. I was "overweight" for a short time, but have reverted to a higher weight because I stopped walking the amount I was walking. I am desperately trying to get myself back to where I was and then keep going down. I am above 200 and need to go back to my previous weight so I feel like I am moving forward. We are on the same journey, so will be right there with you!
