I started my journey in January 2006 before I learned about Sparkpeople. I gave up drinking soda in January, and joined SP in February. Then we joined the YMCA in February also and I reached my goal weight on 22 May 2006. I am mom to 3 and have been pretty active but just couldn't break the plateau of 150 until this year. My goal was 135, and my body decided to be 130~ Finally, I made it.
I have new goals to be a better runner. I want to improve my 5k race time. I am running a 10k in July 2007 for the first time ever. I am using the Jeff Galloway method to run more miles. Next year I will probably run a half marathon. I will not quit running just because I am pregnant, whenever that happens!
And I am on the track to improvement! And becoming a long distance runner!

****I took a hiatus from Spark and rejoined the Babyfit sister site because in September 2007 I became pregnant with baby #4! I kept my exercise routine, did strength training and Zumba through my whole pregnancy! In fact, I worked out 3 days before I had the baby! And I started working out again seriously at the Y about 11 days after she was born. Unfortunately even with working out I gained 50 pounds, which was more than I gained with my other 3 pregnancies. So I am starting over again and I have lost about 20lbs and have about 30 to go to get back to my goal of 130.****
To have more energy, be fit and healthy and strong! I hope to be that "hot mom"...being fit and healthy is important. (Hubby calls me his hot wife...but he always thought I was anyway!) To run a 5k in 28 minutes or less....to become a "long distance runner"
Working out 3-4 times a week...cardio and strength training and drinking lots of water. I gave up drinking Coke in January 2006 and lost 10 pounds. We joined the YMCA in February and I started using the elliptical machines, my new best friend for cardio! I am now working towards running a 5k again, using the treadmill. My ultimate goal is to run a Half marathon again..and beat my last time by a longshot!!!

I enjoy rollerblading, running, knitting, crocheting and scrapbooking, gardening- getting better at it, reading anything and everything, Favorite football team-PITTSBURGH STEELERS, and I love my kids. My kids that drive me crazy but are really very sweet boys . Now we have a sweet princess too.
And I LOVE my friends!

Congratulations on your newest family member... Your race time from just a month after delivery is FANTASTIC - I'm so inspired! :)
I, too, have gained a little more than I'd have liked to... But I feel like if I've been working out, so be it... It will come off in time, right? (((RIGHT!)))

Hey, Chloe!!! Thanks for your comment on my page, yep, I am 60, in fact I'm going to be 62 in December, dang, how did that happen??? I'm working on my upper body this summer, working with my trainer one day/week, and doing the rest either alone or with my husband. I'll probably start working with my trainer 2x's/week in September. We think we might do the Emerald Cup in Bellevue, WA again, we'll see. I love your page, good luck, you have a great attitude!!! Sherry
