Now that I've hit my 40s, my old fitness routines and eating habits require some fine-tuning. I'm healthy and have good cholesterol levels but now that I'm in Chicago I've taken a little too much advantage of the great restaurants nearby. I am working toward the surety of what I eat by using my own kitchen, cooking ahead if necessary for packed lunches and dinners, and using the Nutrition Tracker more religiously. Plus, throughout the seasons, my goal is to use nearby Grant Park and the lakefront for fresh air fitness.

1. Lose 17 pounds.
2. Re-enact a regular fitness program 3x-4x week (45 minutes each)
3. Increase protein intake by eating more meat and studying what other types of food offer high protein
4. For brain fitness, I will read some fiction each day, and study my old German courses 20 min a day.
Nutrition Tracker and Regular Exercise.
Any food or beverage I use will be honestly tracked. This is fascinating! I have previously thought of food as fuel, in times that I've been proactive in fitness and this Tracker is helping me attain that mindset again, but with an understanding of healthy ways to look at food as 'fun.'

I'm getting started with a personal trainer every 2 weeks. I've studied form through 10 years of gym memberships and Pilates training, but I would like new ideas to vary workouts and minimize risk of boredom. Also, my Chicago gym's equipment is different than what I used in Denver.
Cardio daily, alternating muscle groups after that cardio.
Incorporate Pilates again. I adore it. The feeling you leave with after each session is that your body is a work of art.
I live in Old Town and am a graduate of Saint Mary's College at Notre Dame.
I am educating myself on my food selection methodology to date, which has previously been healthy, but now my gravitation toward carbs must be moderated due to slower natural metabolism (aging!).
I want to enjoy the youth of my body and good health by carefully maintaining it, and thereby enjoying the aging process more fully.
I have two beautiful dogs. They get me out 3x a day minimally, even in winter!
We love Lincoln Park and the lakefront. This spring I'd like to get a bike to ride along the beautiful park and lakefront paths.
