We can alter our life by altering our attitudes
I am not dieting- I am holding myself accountable for what I put in my body The present is what slips by us while we're pondering the past and worrying about the future. Until you value yourself, you will not value your time. Until you value your time, you will not do anything with it.â€-- M. Scott Peck 38 year old single mom and a chiropractor. I started a program for a Masters in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in May. I also teach courses at the University I graduated from. Love to work with people & helping them heal. However always ALWAYS busy. My 18 year old daughter graduated high school and is currently enjoying a massage therapy program and college. Big changes are happening all around me and I want them to happen inside me as well. I am feeling happy for the first time in a long time!!!!! Recently i renewed my relationship with God and started going back to church and have never felt more peaceful. Spark people and my spark teams have become a part of my life and I am so thankful for all the positive people I have met and all the changes I have made in my life. The greatest discovery of my generation is that a human being can alter his life by altering his attitudes.- William James Life is what happens to you when you’re making other plans. --Betty Talmadge (attributed to John Lennon) We lose the power of the present because we're so rarely in it. We're reliving the past or speculating about the future. We continue to believe that tomorrow's the day when you'll be more capable, more wealthy, more fit and more loving. Meanwhile, most of us just put in time, dreaming of better things but not making any concrete move to realize them. Set an intention to be aware of your thinking throughout the day. When you find yourself thinking of the future or the past, bring yourself into the present moment. STOP and be aware. Open to experience yourself and your surroundings in that moment. Be grateful for all that you have. If you can appreciate each moment, your life will be rich, no matter what you have or what you have accomplished. Make today really matter. If we want peace of mind and fulfillment, it's essential that we don't shunt our glass ball activities into our 'not urgent' file. It's so easy to put off dealing with priorities like these because we optimistically think we will all live forever. But we simply don't know how much time we have or how long our loved ones will be around. So we need to give urgency to protecting the glass balls in ourlives. As I make these changes in my life, I realize that I must learn to protect these glass balls that I hold so dear. Begin doing what you want to do now. We are not living in eternity. We have only this moment, sparkling like a star in our hand -- and melting like a snowflake.- Marie Beyon Ray "Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind." -- Dr. Seuss (via Elena) "The only way of finding the limits of the possible is by going beyond them into the impossible. " - Arthur C. Clarke
