10/28/12 *ahem*, starting again almost where I was in the summer of 2000! Finished my 2nd half marathon in 3:31, not a pb but a finish on a half none-the-less. I guess I can call that a success.
I still love running but with this additional weight it has gotten harder! Some definite incentive for getting back on track!

Welcome to my page. This is going to be the page of success. I'm excited to get some spark weight loss trophy's on here! I started a learn to run program in March 2008 and am now training to run a half marathon. Ive never been a speedy runner but seem to have fair endurance so I'm not expecting to finish my half in any great time but finish I will! Next year i can take some time off it :)

*update*
I finished my first half marathon in 3:24 hours. People walked it faster than I ran it. Infact, people ran the full marathon faster than I ran the half! Anyway, I successfully finished a half marathon and am so proud of myself. I plan to do another half on in October 2010 with 50 pounds less on my body. I know for a fact that this will automatically take some time off my run. My goal for the next half is 3 hours or less.

*Update*
8/16/2010 I have had some minor setbacks this year, including couch surfing for 3 1/2 months while my roof and ceiling were repaired for a leak, and developed a nasty case of plantar fascaitis which has really slowed down my running. I have decided to let the running take a back seat for a while as my feet recover.
I have been enjoying time with a personal trainer at my gym. Now that I am back home I am really looking forward to getting back into gear with Spark :)

*yet another update

Was able to start running again in January! Yay! Never been so happy to run in my life! Had to restart from scratch with LTR as to not reinjure myself. I am now back up to regular 5k's and think I will stay here for a while and work on my speed. I plan on another half in 2012 :) and I will get a PB :)

*update*
10/31/11 so still doing 5k's with the goal of another half in October 2012. Going through some knee issues! I have been doing some strengthening exercises to deal with that and have a knee brace on order. I am also in the long line-up for an MRI to see what's going on. About one month ago I started eating clean!
