I am 36 years young with a whole lot of life left in my, I hope. I have nearly raised my children, and have more time to think about me. Although this journey is hard, and don't have much support at home, I am hoping that I can do this for me. A new me. The real me. The one that has been buried for way too long!
My ultimate goal is to be 125lbs by my birthday, September 30 of next year.
I wish to quit smoking and be completely done with it by September of this year.
I started Zumba tonight! I plan on doing that at least two times a week. As the weather breaks, I will be able to start walking at night.
I plan on watching what I eat, although, I am not doing a good enough job right now.
I live in Southern Illinois, for now. I really want to move away from here. I see myself living in the mountains, preferably in the pacific northwest by the time I am 45. But I have a feeling I will do it alone, and without the life I know now. It was never my dream to live and die here, but my spouse looks at it differently. It is time I live for me!
I love reading! I could read a whole book in a day, and have on more than one occassion! I am not ashamed to say that I am a Twilight fan, and have read the series in a whole weekend. I also enjoy the Sookie Stackhouse series. A.K.A TrueBlood, on HBO. I read that series in a weeks time. 13 books I believe? I love the Janet Evonavich "Stephanie Plume" series and anything by Nicholas Sparks. Now there's a husband I could live with! In addition to reading, I also write. I have started on three novels, none of which are finished, nor may they be ever published, but they are mine, and that's what counts, for now.

Hello...welcome to sparkpeople....I have not been as diligent on here as of late, due to me being overloaded with issues right now, but will be on here off and on.....Ya I smoked off and on for over 15 years and really was not enjoying it anymore, mostly due the expense and I got a new boyfriend who is a nonsmoker and my health and children were good motivators as well, therefore I decided it was time.....I started by doing some research on quitting and figuring out which method I wanted to try...decided I did not want any nicotine replacement therapy at all...I figured if I am going to quit I am not going to torture myself slowly...it was all or nothing, plus I think NRT is just another money maker for someone....I decided to use Chantix....I then looked at the calender and decided on a quit date....I chose Aug 31, 2009....which gave me a little over a month to get ready.....I then started to tell all of my friends and family that I was quitting....(some of them were like ..sure..) but that way I was informing everyone of my plan so when I came down to the time I would have support....then I made a appt with my doc to get the script (chantix) so I could start taking it one week before my quit date...you can smoke the first week....then I found quitnet.com on the web....this helped alot...especially the first few weeks....I could log on and get support if I needed it....plus it will send you your stats daily for reinforcement.....When the day came I woke up and took it hour by hour....LITERALLY....each hour came was another accomplishment....I kept looking and finding alot of liturature on the net about how bad those things were and kept telling myself that I did not and will not smoke again.....I will not telll you that it was easy at all.....I truely believe that you have to be number one READY, and number two prepared, and number three determined to not let those things beat you and I did it....now I have literally brainwashed myself into knowing that I never want to go through the quit again...therefore I will never smoke again! Now I am 134 days and have no problem at all....get through that first month and it gets alot easier....but you have to really really want to...oh I also carried around a couple of reinforment letters that I found on http://whyquit.com/ and anytime I would think I wanted a smoke I would pull these out and read them.....I am so so so so glad to be smokefree now....oh BTW I am in Carbondale....:)
