Onward and upward!

Hello!

I've been trying to lose weight for 3 years, almost four now. I have gone up and down and struggled for one reason or another. I've been through some traumatic times in recent years, and am hoping to use exercise as a way to release and move forward.

I am now focusing on regular exercise and a healthy diet, with things I enjoy in moderation, making small changes one by one in my life. It's slow, but better.

I'm looking for spark friends to help ...

My Program:
I'm eating right and exercising.

Trying to get at least 30 minutes of cardio & strength training six days a week. See my fitness tracker for what I'm doing.

Alternating between riding my bike, running training outdoors, elliptical machine, swimming, yoga classes, and working with my virtual personal trainer on my new Xbox Kinect.

Saw your notes on having issues with running. I wonder if your potassium intake it high enough? Maybe add that to your tracker and see if increasing it helps. Also I wonder if you need to look at the mechanics of your stride? I tend to run on my toes which blows out my calves way quicker than my quads. A more experienced runner or possibly runners world magazine might help you better diagnose...Bike ride Wed early evening?

Aw, thanks for the comment on my photo! What's hilarious is that the last time I was in Cincy (to do "Herschel Gertz"), I was the weight I JUST NOW returned to -- in other words, it's in between then and now that I gained weight, so really, YOU are the person who's seen me at the "bookends" of this process. :D Also, um, I never ever ever thought of you as someone who needed to lose weight, just so you know...in my memory, you are tiny and petite. emoticon

Hey, I know you!!! Heeee! Alex, how are you? I saw that you had "liked" SparkPeople at one point on Facebook, but didn't think to try to find whether you had a page and a username here until I saw you on the Actors/Actresses community list. (I think I had been a member there and dropped out of the community when I realized I never did anything with it.) So glad to see your smiling face!
