I made a come back and competed in my 3rd figure show on May 14th 2011 at the Eastern Seaboard and placed 4th out of 5 girls. Also just competed in the Coastals USA on August 20th, 2012 and placed in the top 3 - 3rd place. I have since then competed in 3 more shows and won OVERALL MASTERS in my recent show in June 2012 Southeastern Golds Classic Gadsden, AL! I am a mother of 4 girls and want to be a great role model to them by showing them they can accomplish anything if they put their minds to it and stay focused and determined. I want to inspire others :) I started losing weight/fat the right way with the Body for Life program and lost a total of 50lbs! I started in February 2007. WOOT! I then took it to the next level to keep my momentum up and to show myself that nothing is impossible! I want to set an example to others so they can see that its never too late to change.

WORDS OF ADVISE:
If you fall off the wagon, don't dwell on it. Pick yourself up and continue on your journey to reach your goals.
Don't get obsessed over the numbers, especially the scale numbers. Its all about BODY COMPOSITION.
Please stop weighing yourself EVERYDAY!!! Hide the freaking scale already if you have to, mine is in my closet :P
Take progress pictures, the pictures DON'T LIE! Those and measurements should be your real indicators of progress.
Extra cardio doesn't mean allowed cheating.
Have a game plan before hitting the gym!
Replace negative thoughts with POSITIVE ones. Reprogram your mind!
Remember that there are no magic foods or supplements that can replace the right training and the right diet.
2 good macros (percentages of nutrients...protein, carbs, and fats) to go by: 40/40/20 or 40/30/30 if you want to get started.
Take a cheat meal OR cheat day once a week, it will keep you sane and help your metabolism. Now we trust that the other days were clean ;)
Eating tons of crap + tons of exercise = NOT GOING ANYWHERE!! We are spinning wheels here.
Be realistic with your goals. Rome wasn't built in a day.
“Abs are built in the kitchen”. Pretty sure you heard this quote! It doesn’t matter if you do all the every kind of ab exercise and do it all day, if you are still eating junk food you will not have well defined abs.
DRINK YOUR WATER! Limit those artificial sweeteners.
Cinnamon tea is good to help level your sugar levels and helps with cravings. Also research says it helps lower triglycerides and cholesterol and improves insulin function. I love this tea! I actually grew up drinking it.

Maintain a healthy lean physique in my off-season from competing. Continue to follow a healthy lifestyle and help others achieve their goals. I am a mother of 4 daughters so having kids doesn't mean its too late. I want to continue being a great mother and a great role model to all! I want to inspire and help other women. I am living proof that this can be achieved! I thought my metabolism was destroyed, but i was wrong. I did not know the right techniques to use to get my body to burn fat. Always trying to take shortcuts to things didn't get me anywhere. THERE ARE NO MAGIC PILLS! You do actually have to stay committed and work hard.
I want to get certified as a personal trainer in 2009 - DONE, got certified with Fitour to get started and looking to get certified with Nesta, Ace or NASM next. I'm ready to help others reach their goals!

I have done Body for Life since Feb 2007 and later switched over to Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle by Tom Venuto which incorporates carb cycling. I have had great success with these programs, unlike any other programs, these actually WORK! Also what has made a world of difference is joining forums and sites for support and accountability.
For building i have done the Scivation Lean Mass program.
Now i'm focused on burning fat (circuit style training) so i change things up and eating 5 clean meals a day.

I used to be a total cardio bunny when i didn't know the importance of lifting weights. They will not make you bulky (that is a MYTH) and it will actually speed up your metabolism (more muscle burns more calories to maintain that muscle). I have learned a lot by reading lots of fitness articles and watching what works for my body type. YOU CAN NOT STARVE your body, do LOTS of exercise, and expect to lose weight. You may do it for a short time, but guess what...you WON'T maintain it. I know this through personal experience. I was chubby growing up and did the yo yo dieting for the longest. I also used to be an emotional eater, but that has stopped. I have learned to focus on other things instead of depending on food. baby steps :)
