I've dealt with being overweight most of my life. In school, I was always the bigger girl in the class, my self esteem and confidence were so low. I got depressed about my weight and when I started working, I decided I needed to loose weight to feel better about myself, so eventually I did get down to a size 10. That was such a great feeling, I felt so motivated to stay at that size, then I met someone and well I was so happy that I ate and he didn't care if I was big, he just wanted me to be happy. As they say, when you start a relationship, you tend to gain weight. Well, then I got pregnant about a year later with my first daughter who is now 6. She is the best thing that ever happened to me and she gave me the motivation to loose weight after having her. It took me a year but I got down to where I was before, a size 10. Then, the shock of my life, I got pregnant again and had another daughter 21 months after my first girl was born. They mean the world to me and I'm glad I had them close together, but now I know what they mean when they say losing baby weight is much harder after the second baby. Boy is that true, I have tried doing everything but I think I just need more support on my weight loss journey. I'm a single mother of 2 girls now and I want to have more energy to keep up with them and I want to show them how to have a healthy life. So, when they get older they won't have the same self esteem issues that I had. I was referred to a friend on facebook to this website and seeing the progress she has made makes me feel like having the support online may work for me. So, here's to the next little step, I need to break my weight loss down into little steps in order to reach my ideal weight. I want to loose weight not only for myself but for my two beautiful girls who mean the world to me. I want to show them from example that you can do anything you put your mind to.
Update August 7/2012
I'm going to start this on a positive note, today is the day, if not today, then when? I'm mentally ready to start losing weight again as I have no energy, I get short of breath so easily, and I want to be able to run after my kids all the time. I want to set a good example to my daughters to eat healthy and exercise. This time I will not be overwhelmed by the amount of weight I need to loose, but surround myself with positive people who don't stress me out. Last time, I was on sparkpeople, I did loose 3 lbs, however, it's that continual motivation that I need to keep going. I always start well, but end up right back where I was before. My head and heart are now ready to tackle this weight problem I've had all of my life. I've always looked to food when I'm stressed out, but I need to learn other stress management techniques besides eating mindlessly. I know I can do this! Last time my attitude was very negative, this time, I am going to keep moving forward with my head held high and try hard to remain positive and try not to worry about the little things like the numbers on the scale. I will focus on how I feel as I continue once and for all on this weight loss and lifestyle change.
1. Feel healthy both inside and out.
2. Loose 50 lbs.
3. Fit a size 10.
4. Feel good about how I look.
5. Be an inspiration to my daughters.
1. Exercise at least 3 times a week for 30 mins or more.
2. Drink 8 glasses of water a day.
3. Eat healthy.
4. Track my food and fitness everyday.
