Hi, my name is Cheryl...I have been attempting to lose weight most of my life, honestly, I cannot remember a time when I was not overweight...I tried to lose so many times, so many different way and nothing seemed to motivate me enough to keep with it...I would lose a little here and there but always seemed to find what I had lost with more and more so that now I am the heaviest I have ever been...the past summer my mom and I joined Planet Fitness and my main goal was to be able to do things ...
Hi, my name is Cheryl...I have been attempting to lose weight most of my life, honestly, I cannot remember a time when I was not overweight...I tried to lose so many times, so many different way and nothing seemed to motivate me enough to keep with it...I would lose a little here and there but always seemed to find what I had lost with more and more so that now I am the heaviest I have ever been...the past summer my mom and I joined Planet Fitness and my main goal was to be able to do things with my kids when we went to Maine...and I guess I did complete that goal now that I think about it...I did do most everything they did...But I did not lose much weight and since we got back like before I have gained back what I did lose and more once again...I have also lost motivation again...I go to the gym a few days then "I'm tired!" or "I'm sore!" so i'm not going today...always an excuse...Well "I AM TIRED OF ALL THE EXCUSES!" My oldest son graduates college in February and I would like to be down at least 30 maybe 40 lbs by then...I keep asking myself "Is that too much to ask" So I am here asking for help and motivation...I have been here so many times reading..not posting...just observing...I guess that is not enough...This time I really want to succeed...My dad passes away last year and he was overweight and had a lot medically wrong with him like diabetes, neuropathy, high blood pressure, heart disease, just to name a few and I have decided that all though I loved my Daddy so much I don't want to be like him that was...and I just keep eating...So I Need Help!!! Sorry this is so long I guess I am more venting my problem than introducing myself...So thanks for listening...and thanks in advance for any help that is provided

Cheryl this is a healthy living site. Diet is what we all eat but the media likes to call a diet a bad word. If we all clean up our DIETS eat healthy foods and MOVED it will change most of us for the better.

When this happens to many of us you have to look at the big picture.

1.NUTRITION - are you tracking food by measuring or guessing. -MEASURE with scale or measuring cups and spoons.

2. FITNESS - Exercise and strength training exercise. Lots of videos to do with bands or dumbbells. Walking is great and easy for most people. You can look for toning and stretching articles. They do not involve weights-look at the videos and find what you like to do.
3.DRINK the right amount of fluids for your body.

4. SLEEP is very important too little sleep causes weight gain.

5. STRESS. is another hindrance to losing pounds.

6. Check in with a Dr. visit and if you have medications check if there are any side effects for weight gain.

Search the Spark sites, there are articles on all of those issues. Do not give up and stress, it will be slow but keep at it and try to be happy and stay healthy.
