I will take one step at a time on this journey to a healthier me....

I never had a weight problem until I hit my mid 20s. During high school and college I could eat absolutely anything I wanted and often struggled to maintain a healthy weight. I was also extremely active during this time - playing volleyball, basketball, and running. I continued running into my 20s and played volleyball as often as possible. I never had a weight problem until I hit my mid 20s. During high school and college I could eat absolutely anything I wanted and often struggled to maintain a healthy weight. I was also extremely active during this time - playing volleyball, basketball, and running. I continued running into my 20s and played volleyball as often as possible. But I suffered several ankle sprains and at 25 broke my left ankle in 3 places. Those injuries combined with a very unhealthy, abusive relationship led to stress eating and weight gain creeped up without my even realizing it.
In my late 20s & early 30s, I continued to gain weight. Then I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and my doctors tried medication after medication - some of which have unfortunately packed on the pounds (one medication caused me to gain 50 lbs in 6 weeks).
I have tried so many diets and lost (and regained) so much weight over the past several years and I am ready to just lose the weight for good and be healthy. I've considered gastric surgery, but don't want to take that drastic of a step if I can help it.
I have recently lost 25 lbs and want to keep the momentum going, so I've joined SparkPeople and am hoping with the motivation and help I find here, I can finally succeed!!

My Goals:
My long term goal is to lose a total of 149 pounds.
My short term goals are as follows:
6/7/11 - 275 (reached)
10/15/11 - 250
2/3/12 - 225
5/25/12 - 200
9/14/12 - 175
1/11/13 - 150

My Program:
Eat healthy, plenty of fruits & veggies, plenty of protien, low glycemic carbs, low fat, low sugar, eat as clean as possible. Exercise as much as possible within the limitations of my fibromyalgia. Keep positive!!!

I live in Ft. Worth Texas with my boyfriend and our two dogs Max and Molly.

Other Information:
I love spending time with my boyfriend and our two dogs Max and Molly, I am very family oriented and love to spend time with my parents and siblings. I love to read all types of fiction. I love movies of all types. And am a fan of Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, So You Think You Can Dance, The Voice, America's Got Talent, Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, Bones, and House. I also love to cook and try new recipes.

Hey Girlie ~ Thanks for stopping by my page. Too cool that you are on here too. I'm really glad you're lovin it. Hope you're having a great weekend! Taking my hubby to go see Elton John in Cologne, Germany tonight ~ we leave soon. Yippee! Moving out of our house and into temporary lodging in the morning. Another yippee! Thanks for the comment on my blog and the add! Take measurements soon, because you'll want them for sure. Like I said, I took them an entire month AFTER I started, and I wish I had them from the beginning.
