There is no shortcut to any place worth going!
Hello. This is like my 5th time back to Spark People. I have been here before and had success with the support and resources. And then life happened lol and I let go of my progress. Then I got back on track last year and was eating right and exercising and seeing no results. I was extremely frustrated and gaining weight. I was sick non stop, beyond fatigued all the time, in horrible pain all the time, depressed...the list literally goes on and on. My dr could not figure what was wrong. I gained ...
I gained 30lbs in 5 months. It was awful. Then I started seeing a naturopathic dr and we discovered that I am gluten intolerant. I am currently undergoing an extensive elimination diet to see what else I am intolerant to, or at least sensitive to. Since going gluten free in the beginning of Dec, I have naturally lost 4lbs. Since doing the elimination diet (on week 2) I have lost 8lbs. I am able to breathe through my nose again, I am more energetic, I am not hungry all the time...it is amazing! So here I am again. Except this time I am gluten free and most likely will be totally free of other things permanently after the elimination diet. Hoping this time around I will do this right and reach my goal. Update May 2012- I am down 25lbs since December 2011. I am gluten free, dairy free, sensitive to egg but still eating it sometimes, sensitive to beef but still eating it sometimes, and sensitive to processed tomato products and not eating them at all cause it is not worth the discomfort and ill effects. My Program:
Exercise Program: Cardio 5-6 days a week Strength Training 3-4 days a week I want to workout at least an hour 5-6 days a week. As it is right now, I am doing 1-2 hours 2-3 days a week and an hour the rest. Eating Plan: Because of my dietary restrictions, I should be eating gluten free, dairy free, corn free, and processed tomato free. I have non celiac gluten intolerance, an allergy to dairy/casein, a strong sensitivity to corn and all its products (it is in everything!! :( ), and a sensitivity to processed and canned tomatoes. This is super hard for me to follow still, as it has only been less than a year since discovering it all but I make my best efforts daily and hope to be free of everything and happy with it soon.
