The 9 pounds I lost last summer came back and even though I walk a mile nearly every day, and have been since the beginning of July, the scale refuses to budge. I feel healthier though arthritis makes my progress a challenge, and am just getting resigned to the fact that I may never lose the weight. I have as a role model, my neighbor, a 74 year old who I walk with who has been a consistent walker for years. She is 20 years younger than me but in fantastic shape. I was an athlete in my younger years, and want to feel that "high" from being fit again. I miss my former self.

My Goals:
1. Lose weight consistently until I reach my goal of 160 pounds, then lose some more.
2. Feel better naturally and get off bp, cholesterol, GERD and pain meds.
3. By next summer, I want to look good in a bathing suit again.

The upcoming Mother’s Day provides a perfect opportunity to the women in my life. Have you ever noticed that women take care of others before they care for themselves? I am sure that this has something to do with biological functions, probably ingrained into our caring behaviors as children, but you need not have had a child to be a caring and loving woman and thus “mother others!”

Therefore, I wanted to express my appreciation for you in my life. Thank you for being you!

It amazes me to see so many women who raise a family, cook, clean, and provide a shoulder to lean on . . . you are all SUPERWOMEN!! So I want to remind you to love how special you are to those around you. You are fantastic that you are balancing and juggling so many things at the same time. You are powerful and strong, you can become whatever you want, and you can say it with conviction!

Hi Cheryl it's nice to meet you.
I saw your post on Challenged by Arthritis & i'm sorry your having trouble with your knee & not able to continue your usual mile walk. One thought for you though is...have you tried exercising in a pool ? It makes a huge difference as the water takes all the stress off your joints & makes excercising a lot easier.....so long as your not afraid of water that is !! LOL
