Time to get a grip!

A former childhood "skinny minny", I still have the old mindset that I can eat whatever I want but lately the body is protesting...creaky knees, sore feet, higher blood pressure and blood sugar, acid reflux and threats from my doctor to boot. And the clothes. Really. Check out any "women's" department or store. I do believe the styles (and its a stretch to use that word) are punishment for plus-sized women. Gross. 1/25/13 Update 30 pounds gone. In the midst of a life-storm at the present time which is causing a lot of stress and a need to recommit myself to my goals to control the things that are controllable. Exercising, tracking my nutrition, drinking enough water and getting enough sleep. And trusting God through this storm! Thanks to a dear sparkfriend for that reminder

Hi Cheri! Good to hear from you! i'm doing okay. Struggling a little with my weight these days. I put some back on, and am fighting to try to get it back off again before a bit becomes a lot. This maintenance stuff is hard! But I'm not giving up. I'm refusing to buy larger slacks, so I'm hoping having to suck my tummy in every day to button that waist will give me the incentive I need to be more consistent with my diet. Otherwise, I'll have to start going to work in my sweatpants :-)

How are things going for you? It seems like it's been a while since we last caught up. Hope you have great weekend!

Hey, Cheri! Saw your comment on my status. No mystery - I've just been completely buried at work and haven't had much time to Spark beyond simple tracking. But after a couple of weeks of long days and longer work weekends, I think I may finally be catching up.

How are you doing? Are you feeling more motivated these days? I'm up and down in terms of that lately. Some days pretty good, some not so much.
