ps Yes, I did go down 7lbs in one night - it is amazing how much water we can hold onto sometimes. No wonder the rings seem to choke the fingers sometimes.

My plan? Well, I've always liked light and healthy food; my mother bought me a subscription to Cooking Light in 1996 and I've been a subscriber ever since. I cooked almost exclusively from it, but being single at the time, I would make a dish that served 6 people and eat all of it.
My fiance really was the one who made me look in the mirror and showed me that I needed to make a change. He loved me just the way I was, but wanted me to be healthier.
My three biggest changes I made was to join SP and start logging my food, I bought a food scale, and I discovered the "Flat Belly Diet" from Prevention. I don't know if it's working per se, but it did show me that I could eat 4 meals a day at 400 calories (or so) a piece and feel totally satisfied.
All that being said, I totally sabotaged myself last night too. I was good all day, but I made a recipe that had too much salt in it, then I had two servings but only wrote down one, and had too much halloween candy. Candy I shouldn't have bought in the first place but told myself that I could successfully portion control it. Oh well. Rereading your blog today reminds me that it's a new day and I can't dwell on last nights failures (or the +1.0 pounds on the scale this morning). 2711 days ago
