Glass is half full!

I remember what its like to be healthy, now I will take small but decisive steps to get there again!

Smokefree since April 20th, 2009 - Woohoo!

I went travelling in June 2010 - 2 months of changing countries and no work was a nightmare to my routine. Now I have just resurfaced and found my routine again- gonna be hard work but I am going to find the balance and maintain it!

Note to self:
All it takes is consistency and planning one step ahead! ...

Success equals heading in the right direction, so I need to be pleased with myself from day one - not just when I get results!

Been focusing on making healthy progress in all aspects of my life: physically, emotionally, psychologically & spiritually = being happy! Using the other goals tab to track these.

My Goals:
* Learn German
* Volunteer for dog walking at local animal shelter
* Support community gardens and local farmers market for fresh fruit and veges
* Buy fair trade and organic wherever possible
* Go hiking / mountain biking at least one sunday a month for fun cheap exercise, to explore the area and get out of the city!
* Relax once a day with yoga, plilates, walking outside or relaxation therapy

Long Term goal:
Be a healthy and successful person my family and I can be proud of - the best version of myself!

Mid Term goals: Look after my health enough so that I don't want to hide away and can go out and visit friends and family so my happiness can have a positive impact on other peoples lives.

Short Term goal:
Be healthy for my visit to see friends and family in NZ in October 2010

* Burn 2000 calories p/w
* 4.5 hrs cardio p/w
* Daily calorie goal 1400 - 1800 (cal/carb cycling)
* Aiming for 60gms protein per day

My Program:
Weights: 3 nights a week
Cardio: 6 days a week incl: cycling to work, yoga & walking

Nutrition: Be aware of my portion sizes, use small plates, carry healthy snacks, stick to low energy density food when going out with friends i.e. fresh fruit / vege salads, juice or tea and eat main meals at home so I know whats in them. Plan meals ahead of time with 1 night off a week.

4 servings of protein per day from: Rice milk, nuts, seeds, beans, legumes & vegan protein powder

* Limit caffeine, animal products, processed food and added sugar
* Eat fresh fruit & veges
* Eat whole grains, nuts, seeds, legumes
* Eat organic wherever possible
* Drink Water and Green Tea
