If you are reading my comment, I want for you to know that weight loss truly is a journey of self awareness. You CAN do it! If we have the desire, the will, and strength to move our bodies the weight does come off. For me personally, making healthy choices is a constant challenge. Also, dealing with my arthritis isn't much fun, but I CAN still move. And I do frequently make healthy choices.
When I signed up for Sparkpeople I tried a recipe for a healthy version of ice-cream. :) If you haven't tried it yet, I reccomend you do. It is such a yummy healthy treat. I used Flaxmilk in place of the skim. 1/2 cup of Flaxmilk contains 25 calories. Soymilk 1/2 cup is 40 calories. I haven't tried the soy, but the Flaxmilk is pre-sweetened with cane sugar, so adding extra honey/sugar isn't needed. Also, I wanted to note that once you've placed the ice & salt in the gallon sized bag, it is reusable. :) Just place it in your freezer for the next time you've got a hankering for ice-cream. Voila! It also seems to set-up the ice-cream faster. You need not be alarmed about how mushy the salt/ice mixture is, because it works just fine in freezing your yummy treat. 1414 days ago
