Time for a little update!! I haven't been overweight all of my life but I have always been an addict to junk food, fast food, fried food and sweets. Just grew up eating crap and a lot of it. I started gaining weight after high school. Bad eating habits remained and my daily exercise from P.E. class and basketball were gone. I also got into a serious relationship and we ate out constantly! I put on a good 20lbs or so and immediately started hitting the gym and tried to get back down to my high school weight. Well that didn't last too long and over the course of the last 8 years I had gone up to 220lbs twice. I have done weight watchers twice and have lost weight through that and there were times I kept the weight down but never ever ever reached my ultimate weight goal.

October of 2008 I met my super cool best friend who really gave me a shake down. I was making excuses for not working out, constantly consuming crappy food and not drinking any water. I started working out slowly taking walks around my neighbor. Then in Jan of 2009 I joined the gym and since then I have consistently worked out intensly 5-7 days a week. I got stronger and more athletic and lost quite a lot of weight. But by June of 2010 I still wasn't where I wanted to be. I was going back and forth between 183-189. After moving to Vegas I gained 5lbs putting me back to 195lbs. I was still working out like a mad man but couldn't think why I wasn't losing weight. I was so angry and frustrated. I finally got a personal trainer for 3 sessions. Sure I learned some new workouts but ironically the one thing I needed in order to lose weight was to actually write down everything I drink and ate. Oh geez! I don't know why I was so stubborn. I thought I know how to lose weight but once I started to account for everything I lost almost 15lbs in a month and a half. So since then I have gained a new focus and committment to losing weight. I drink a ton of water now, eat out less and also since moving here I started taking group exercise classes which I love!

I just learned to be aware and less stressed and fearful. It's amazing to be where I am now. A lot more knowlegable and confident and will definitely get to my weight goal this year! :)

My Goals:
-be the best version of myself I can be through lots of hard work

-run a 5K, then a 10K and by next year I would like to do a half marathon :)

-continue eating better and tracking everything I eat and drink and exercising consistantly

-to spend the last years of my 20's feeling good about myself

-eventually be ready to do a cross fit class

My Program:
-exercise is mandatory and I don't believe in excuses

-5 to 6 days of week of pure sweat through a mix of Spin Classes, Running, P90X Plus and also Body Pump and the occasional Boot Camp Class

-limit soda and sugary drinks to rarely drinking them (drinking now almost 4 liters of water a day and still trying to limit the diet soda)

-not eating out as often as before and try cooking at home more (definitely getting a handle on this!)

-incorporate more fruits and veggies into my diet (i love love green beans)

-watch how much i eat and don't eat so late (keeping a food diary has been the key to everything!)

Personal Information:
-Grew up in San Diego, Moved to L.A. when I was 21 then moved to Sin City, Las Vegas this year 2010 to be close to mom and start over
-I'm 29, 5'7 and always been curvier but discovering that my preconceived notions about what my body will always look like was wrong!
