Hello Everyone! I have been with Spark people for almost 3 years. I fell off the radar for most of 2013, I had two surgeries and one was my knee.
I gained back between 10 and 15 pounds but I have most of that off and I am back on track and feeling great.
I never thought I would be able to lose weight. I figured I would just stay heavy the rest of my life. I have had to make major changes in my eating and exercising, like actually start exercising! I now use exercise when I am ...

I never thought I would be able to lose weight. I figured I would just stay heavy the rest of my life. I have had to make major changes in my eating and exercising, like actually start exercising! I now use exercise when I am stressed or upset in place of the ice cream I would have eaten 3 years ago. I can not thanks SP enough for creating this site for people like me. I rely on my Spark friends, when I am in a slump or if I have hit a wall. This is an amazing place!

Happy Friday! Hope all is well with you and family. End of February already, and hopefully warm weather is coming.

See you lost another 2 lbs. so scale starting to move again. I find myself losing a little, and then pausing more. I am pretty happy with where I am , and willing to take it slow now.

My doctor visit is Mar. 10th, and I will have lost quite a lot of weight since my Dec. visit. I was around 210 then, I think, so if I do well, 30 lbs in about 4 months. He'll be happy. I have been doing single digits, but I just got tired of getting to 215, and gaining 20-30 back. I'll probably hover at 180 or so for a while, then make the final push for 160.

Time is flying. Mar 5th is my 3 year Sparkversary. Have a great weekend.

Hi there again. How did the knee surgery go? My brother punch a hole in his knee during high school, and the bone is just floating around inside in pieces. He recently went in for gout of the left knee, and they X-rayed the right one, and came running back in to tell him the knee was destroyed..lol. He is going to school for accounting right now, and hoping to get a job with health care, and get a knee replacement. It may take a while, but he knows that he needs to lose weight to get a job, and it would certainly be hard for him to have the surgery, and get around at 346 lbs. So the plan is lose weight, graduate, get a job, and then a new knee..lol.

Glad to hear that you are maintaining. I am slowly trying to lose these last few lbs., and it is getting tougher, but the scale is going down. Are you able to exercise more, or still recovering from the knee, and is the pain gone?

Have a wonderful day.

Hi there. Welcome back! I am doing fine. I blew off the summer, and enjoyed myself, but back down to 223.... 51 more to go to GW.

I just changed my diet to slow myself down. I was losing 5-7 lbs a week, and then cheating because I was hungry, so I just upped my menu 1000 calories. I also moved up to 70% fat, and 12 servings of vegetables a day, which slightly increased my fiber to 15. Still staying below 40 net carbs, and struggling to eat 2500 calories, but I feel full, and still losing .. 2.4 lbs in last 8 days. Slower, and steadier.

Hope everything is going well for you, and since you maintained, you are still healthy. For me the holidays aren't a huge problem. I love Thanksgiving because all the food is allowed on low carb..lol. I can just eat 2 lbs of turkey.. no pumpkin pie though.. emoticon

The rest are days when pizzerias are closed, so I have to cook my own meals anyways. Halloween was the worst. I had a few candy bars. I have no family except my brother, so no big meals to avoid. Mostly I just watch football.

Hope the holidays aren't too hard on you. Be careful, and enjoy time with relatives. Glad to hear from you.

Two days in a row is a streak.. now ya gotta do it ..lol.

I used to go to work at 6 a.m., but now waking at 8 is good enough. I have switched to going to bed at 2 a.m., and getting 6 hours of sleep, sometimes I get a nap in the afternoon. My eyes might bleed, if I woke up at 5:30

Glad you are back, and active.
