A New Outlook on Life

My name is Carrie. I am 38 years old and am a single mom with a 12 yr old son. When I started this journey, I had 97 lbs to lose. I was rolling along really great for the first six months or so, but have recently hit some bumps in the road. I have continued to stay active so I have been able to maintain my weight loss thus far, but have not had the gumption for losing. I was rolling along really great for the first six months or so, but have recently hit some bumps in the road. I have continued to stay active so I have been able to maintain my weight loss thus far, but have not had the gumption for losing. I have been going through some seriously stressful life changes and am hanging in. I am hoping to smooth out the bumps in the road shortly and once again hit the ground running...figuratively and literally. Stay tuned for the conclusion...

I am back at it again and gaining momentum, which is good going into Christmas. It will make it easier to stay the course if I have some downward movement driving me. I just hit the 60 lbs gone mark and it feels great. I am going home for Christmas and will see some people that I haven't seen in years. I'm going to see how much more I can lose before going home.

Fell off once again during the holidays and am having trouble getting motivated again. I exercise regularly and have been maintaining my weight, but need to get back to tracking calories so that I can drop the last 40 lbs.

It is now summertime again and although I am still better off than last summer, my slacking over the winter did not get me where I hoped to be by this summer. I have put on about 3 or 4 pounds in the last couple of months due to poor eating and less exercising (still exercising, just not as much). I need to begin again...I am tired of struggling and need to get the excitement back that I had a year ago when I started. I need to start tracking again...that is key for me. I know this, but forcing myself to do it has been a challenge. I need to quit making excuses and get busy!!

Nov 2011 - I got sick over the summer, they put me on a steroid & I wasn't able to work out, and I gained back some of the weight I lost. I am still much better off than when I started this journey, but I refuse to hit 200 lbs. I am beginning "AGAIN"...so tired of saying that...

Jan 2 2012 - Time to get serious. I need to make some changes in my workout routine as well as my diet because I refuse to stay where I am. I have my 20 year class reunion in June and I would like to be a whole lot closer to my goal weight than I am now. I gained back a lil bit of the weight that I lost and I am beginning now at 195.2 lbs.

March 6 2012 - I have been hitting it hard at the gym and watching what I eat. I changed up my diet and have been eating mostly lean meats, fruits, & veggies...mostly raw as they have the most nutritional value. I strength train once a week with a trainer and do 30 min on the elliptical after. I also have been doing an hour on the elliptical 2-3 days a week. My record is 9.76 miles in an hour, which is a 6.5 min mile pace...I am working really hard and it is paying off...I am now down to 174.0 lbs. I have 34 lbs to go!!

I realize you have teams that work and teams that don't. Sometimes trying out a new team finds a fit.
