Updated goals: This year 2016, is going to be a great year!!! I have some serious goals to attain, I'm heading towards a big birthday this year and PLAN on accomplishing my weight goal. I realize I must make a lifestyle change with diet and exercise. I may start slow, but will be in full swing by the end of January.

I have a FitBit One and these were my 2015 totals, all of which I plan on breaking!!!

Steps: 3,890,098
Miles: 1,6322.22
Floors: 914
Calories: 832,729

My daily step goal is 11,000 per day, except maybe for Wednesday. I sail every Wednesday and it's difficult to get the extra exercise in.

I KNOW I can do this!!!

We have a near-term goal for August and then the next goal set for September.

I want to lose 30 lbs, and I'm not putting a final date down this time. I have several interim goals.

We will do it!!!!

My Program:
My husband & I are watching our carb intake, trying to stay below 40 grams a day. We started at 20 grams and have slowing worked our way up to 40. On occasion, we will drop down to help with plateauing.

We plan on an occasional "cheat day" to reward us when we've accomplished a goal.

My exercise goal is to burn 400 + calories a day, and to get in at least 30 minutes a day of exercise with one day of rest a week.

I know I can do this and by September of next year (a BIG birthday), I want to be at my goals.

    We kept my dad home as long as we could. I lived across the street from my parents, so I was able to help out, and they also had home health care coming in three days a week. My mom couldn't care for Dad on her own because she had been crippled in a head-on collision on the interstate about 25 years ago. It was rough. When he went into the NF, Mom visited 3 times a week, and we both went on the weekends.

    Even with the pain, fear, exhaustion, fighting with the nursing home, and feeling like I had lost my mind, I have to say I'm grateful that I was able to go through that with my parents. We grew very close as a family and I had a relationship with my dad that I probably wouldn't have had otherwise. There was fun and there was joy. There was much to be grateful for. It changed my life.

    I'm glad your dad is well enough to go out. That is a blessing. I hope you all had a wonderful time and made some great memories. Happy Thanksgiving!
