Me myself and I......
Let me tell you a story about a little girl I once knew. She was such a beautiful child, smart old soul. She was in love with the world, everything about it was an adventure and she couldn't wait to explore, love and live it all. Then she met with the monsters that go bump in the night and didn't come out unscathed. The light didn't save her, no one did. So she turned to the one friend a child can have freely and abundantly, the friend who never judged her.

That friend, made her happy for a long time. Gave her pleasure that nothing else did. Was a constant friend and always seemed to know how to comfort her. That friend made her feel safe, and loved. But the little girl began to grow up, and the world decided the friend was no longer good for her.
The world tried to separate them, tried to tell the little girl that her friend was the enemy. You cannot begin to imagine how sad this made that growing little girl. She was enraged as well, the nerve of them to try and separate her from the one friend whose been there for her most of her life. How dare they, she raged.

This little girl dug her heels in and kept her friend. At all costs, she now turned to hiding her friend in all manner of places. Under her bed, in her closet, in drawers, anywhere at all.

Time passed, program after program, facility after facility, and nothing could separate the little girl from her best friend. Until one day the now grown little girl realized something so important it rocked her entire world. She had spent her entire life loving her friend more than she loved herself. Imagine her shock when she realized this. It took small painful things to bring the truth to her but she finally saw it. She could love her friend, enjoy her friend, but her friend shouldn't running her life. By then it was so hard to let go. How could she possibly let go now? What would life be like? How can everyone expect her to?

And so the story continues, that little girl turned into me. Lost, trying to find herself. Trying to love herself more than she loves her next meal. Trying to think more about living that what's for dinner. Trying to substitute food for other joyful activities. I learned to set goals for myself. I am so determined to reach them, but I am learning patience is not a virtue I was born with.

And so the new story begins, the story of the woman who loved herself. Who tore through life like it was a joyride, the woman who smiled because she could. Cried, paid and wanted nothing more than to laugh like she was crazy. And who lived life like there would never be a tomorrow.

Yeah that's me, myself and I.

I have no set date, for any of these goals. I know it's not about time it's about getting there. I just have to work hard at it.

The more severe the pain or illness, the more severe will be the necessary changes. These may involve breaking bad habits, or acquiring some new and better ones. -Peter McWilliams

Take chances, make mistakes. That's how you grow. Pain nourishes your courage. You have to fail in order to practice being brave.- Mary Tyler Moore

Aim for success, not perfection. Never give up your right to be wrong, because then you will lose the ability to learn new things and move forward with your life.
- Dr. David M. Burns

When you feel in your gut what you are and then dynamically pursue it - don't back down and don't give up - then you're going to mystify a lot of folks.
-Bob Dylan (1941 - )

Often we can achieve an even better result when we stumble yet are willing to start over, when we don't give up after a mistake, when something doesn't come easily but we throw ourselves into trying, when we're not afraid to appear less than perfectly polished.
-Sharon Salzberg
Exercise relieves stress. Nothing relieves exercise.

Walking is the best possible exercise. Habituate yourself to walk very far.
