Hi, my name is Samantha (formerly SRBROWN2). I started Spark People back in April 2011 in hopes of losing about 20 pounds; however, I have been on a bumpy ride since then, and I ended up gaining about 20 more pounds.

In high school, I was petite, and I took my physique for granted. Through college, I ended up gaining almost 50 pounds with the late nights, junk food, and fast food. Those days have led to lack of energy, mood swings, and sleepless nights.

For the longest time, I have hated my body for several reasons -- weight gain, illnesses, and lack of energy to name a few. This hate that I have has only produced a girl who sits on the sideline and now, I want to start living.

Foot is no better. :( The walking funny has ripped a hole in my running shoes, back by the heel, so I'll have to tape my heel every time I use the shoes so that I don't get blisters. There's only 250 miles on them, so that's really frustrating! I have my third Airrosti appointment today, but likely won't have the fourth next week because I'm scheduled for outpatient surgery (unrelated). It's just been really stressful. I have to take a lot of time off running, and at this point, I'm saying, okay, whatever I need to do. I'll deal with the Half when January comes, haha.

It helps that we're finding all these moments along the way, with rewards to give me. I never did reward myself much for weight loss milestones, so I'm looking forward to this! Especially with them being themed. :)
