Great job! If it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't Change you. Sorry about your Achilles. We both settled for less than our best today. I have already resolved to run my plan in two weeks. I know that one is flat. I worry about wind off the Lake.

My race was this morning. I too did not make my goal, but it went from 65 to 75* in the first hour. My legs held up great on the hills but not my heart rate. Miles 11 and 12 had the 2 biggest hills and I was done. My unofficial time is 2:41:39.

Your unplanned taper should help your Achilles. I am tapering too. I need the rest so that I am strong for race day.

You are doing emoticon !

Good Plan. I am glad you are feeling better. No 12 or 16 week training plan is without its interruptions. You have this race. You own this race.

I turn around and do a second HM 2 weeks after my first. After thinking about what you said about your taper, I plan to taper only 1 week for the first race, and treat it like a practice race, then not do a recover like my plan calls for until after the second race. I will start my taper at race time for two weeks.
