Because I CAN control my weight.

My name is Chelsea. I'm a typical twenty-something college student. I've been married to my husband, Jason, for 4 years and we have two dogs, Suki and Rocko. I'm currently studying Elementary Education at Park University in Parkville, Missouri.
I've struggled with my weight most of my life. As a child, I played sports and the exercise made up for my poor diet. As I got older, the activity decreased and the calories increased. In January of 2011 was when I hit my highest weight, 210 ...

I've struggled with my weight most of my life. As a child, I played sports and the exercise made up for my poor diet. As I got older, the activity decreased and the calories increased. In January of 2011 was when I hit my highest weight, 210 pounds. I vowed that I would not weigh more than my mother. With a lot of hard work, I lost 47 pounds and made it only 8 pounds from my goal weight of 155. That was August of 2011, Since then, I've gone back to school full time and have slacked on taking care of myself.
December 29th, 2012: I weighed in at 176 pounds. I try to remind myself that I have still lost a lot of weight. However, when I look in the mirror I am still not satisfied. I REFUSE to go back up a size. So I joined a gym and got back on Sparkpeople.

2013 marks a new year and a new resolve to meet new goals. My goal is to lose 26 pounds by summer. Not only for my self-image, but for my health, and for my students. I work with 5-11-year-old children; I have to be able to keep up with them, and more importantly, be a good role model for their overall health.
