I've had a few bursts of healthy living throughout my adult life, and it's always been successful, but always fizzled out after a few months and I've reverted back to my usual flabby self. Being diagnosed with a hernia earlier this year as a result of being overweight was the kick up the bum I needed to get restarted. I've been loosing weight steadily for 8 months through sensible diet, regular cardio and resistance training. There is still much to do!

That's right, without the Hernia (it's stable, and not at all painful btw), I would never have made the change; it could have been something worse or even too late to change. I'd rather it weren't there, but think of my hernia as a motivational charm lingering under my belly button; a constant reminder to keep pushing!
