My name is Julie. I am a 13 year uterine cancer survivor. I have been working on building my strength and developing healthy eating habits.

In November of 2007 I found out that the cancer I had been treated for in 2001 had come back. I started chemo in December 2007 and finished in April 2008. While I was going through my chemo, the personal training center I was working out at started a weight loss/ work out program based on the Biggest Loser Show. As my strength returned I started working with a personnel trainer again and heard about this program. I started the program in September 2008. I joined Sparkpeople as a result of this program. While taking part in this program I was able to lose 60 pounds by the end of 2009.

I was doing fairly well with maintaining my weight loss until October 2010, when I found out that my cancer was back again. I let myself get off track. In July 2011 my DR suggested a treatment for my cancer that was an old school treatment but might slow the growth of the tumors in my lungs. It works for 25 % of women. The main side effect for the drug is weight gain. I have gained most of my weight back but I can’t totally blame the drug, but it does make losing weight a challenge, but the drug is working and the tumors have actually shrunk.

1) Run/walking the 10 mile Crim race in Flint, MI in Aug 2014.

2) Attend bootcamp 2 x per week

3) Walk at least 30 min 3x a week

Weight goal:
1)To loose the 15 lbs by April

General Goals:

1) Complete 4 of my UFO quilting projects.

2) Make at least two quilts for charity.

3) Learn to play one of the Bach Cello Suites.

My Program:
1) Attend bootcamp 2X/ week.

2) Walking for 30 min. at least 3X/week.

3) Track food daily.

Personal Information:
I grew up in Michigan but have lived in Wisconcin since 1990

I am a graduate of Central Michigan University.





Other Information:
My hobbies include knitting, quilting and music.

I belong to the Prairie Piecers Quilt Guild.

I play my cello in a string quartet and in a community orchestra.
