I just wanted to get back into my old clothes!

I quit smoking in 2004 and the weight started going on slowly. Add that to the natural decrease in metabolism as we age and it's a recipe for disaster! LOL! Got increasingly difficult to get it off even when watching calories and going to the gym 5 times a week. I was getting no where.

So I signed up on April 23, 2009 and 3 months later I had dropped 25 pounds, gotten my resting heart rate down to 52 bpm, fit into clothes I hadn't worn in years and I have turned into a foodie who ...

My husband certainly isn't complaining about all the cooking I've been doing - although he did make a bit of a fuss at first. Not a man who likes change. But so far he has loved everything I've cooked.

Alas - there was that usual slip around the year end holidays when I got too lazy to work out and spent more time baking (and of course eating) cookies and drinking eggnog.

But I'm back on track. Working out 3 - 4 days a week and working back to 5 -6. Just in time to get ready for the bathing suit season (yikes!)

Like, I said. I would like to get back into my old clothes. I really can't afford an entire new wardrobe. (And I wouldn't buy one even if I could afford it!)

My Program:
Just trying to balance the nutrients and make sure I get regular exercise.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. Moved to central NJ in 1995 and have been here ever since.

– Michael finally fixed my treadmill. I'm using it more now. I'd like to be more active and am working on it little by little. On the positive side, I'm really using the Sparkpeople android app to track my food. I like it a lot.

I loved your suggestion on a recipe for chicken salad...so I came to visit your page. I am going to try it as I have been craving a recipe for curry and that just might do it. Thanks. I have 25 pounds to go to goal. I have lost 125 and will be 63 in April. We should NEVER give up!!! Froggie
