On my way!

I've been thin and active most of my life, but about six years ago a few factors contributed to me gaining almost 100 pounds. I've been working on loosing it since, at times being more successful than others.

I am actually grateful that I have to watch what I eat and exercise to be thin because I will be healthier in the end. If I weren't overweight I would eat junk and probably have a lower quality of life because of it. I'm still not eating perfect, but it's a lot better than ...

Imagine that.

My Goals:
My goal is to get down to 140-150 so I can look good and feel good about myself again.

My Program:
On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday I do 10-Minute Trainer exercises then walk the dogs about a mile. On my off days I walk them about a half mile so we can all get outside and enjoy the beautiful outdoors.

Personal Information:
I recently moved to south central Colorado from Wisconsin. I absolutely love it here. I love living in the middle of nowhere, but do miss the city at times.

Other Information:
I'm currently a full-time student majoring in Special Education so I don't have much time to read books other than my text books, and movies are kind of out of the question right now. Although I do make time for football.

Welcome...I saw your post about the excel trackers you have designed. I would be interested in seeing them. I have lost 132 but am working on the last 30 and always love new "twists" to old thinking........

Welcome to sparkpeople. I have been a member for about 2 months and with the nutrition tracker and fitness tracker I have really been able to see where I am slacking. I am getting back on track and am losing weight while gaining muscle tone and definition (not as much as I would like but we have to start somewhere). You are in the right place, I found this site by chance and I only miss getting on the internet on weekends, but I am on here every chance I get during the week. There are lots of advice, articles, and spark teams that you can join where others have the same goals or hurdles as you do. Good Luck!! emoticon

emoticon to Spark people!
You have come to the right place to learn a healthy lifestyle. This is all about developing good habits to last you a lifetime and ditching bad ones. With ready made exercise buddies (dogs) and a beautiful place to walk and hike in, exercise shouldn't be a big hurdle for you. The Nutrition Tracker will help you see where you are going wrong with what you eat. Tracking your food is very important if you ever want to get a handle on it. I would be lost without the tracker, its helped me greatly stay on the straight and narrow!
All the best on your start to a new you!

What a great decision you have made to join Spark People. It is an amazing site! The really cool thing is that it is FREE!! There is tons of information to absorb here and there is always someone around to help if you find yourself having a bit of trouble.

Want to make another great decision? Come check out my page. I am a co-leader of a team called QuickFire. It is the best team around by far! Yes, I am bias, but what do you have to lose? If you like what you see about the team, feel free to join! We would love to have you on board with us.

WARINING!! It is proven that QuickFiring can lead to a HOT BODY! I dare you to come play the QuickFire way!!!
