Mama C's Journey to Health

I have gained over 100 pounds in the last 20 years, and I can see this greatly altering my lifestyle. My Goals:
I want to lose 100 pounds in one year - I know this is a lofty goal but as the scriptures say, "PEOPLE WITHOUT A VISION PARISH".

My Program:
Just started my program on 10-16-08 - diet and moderate exercise are going to be my tools, along with a lot of prayer. Hopefully doing this with my husband and daughters will be motivational! I will be tracking my food daily and staying within my calorie range. I will attempt to keep the ratios of carbs, fats, and proteins balanced according to the SP recommendation. I will drink my water max everyday. I will try to do better about getting 8 hours of sleep daily.

Personal Information:
I was born in Arkansas but grew up in Tennessee, Dallas and California. My husband and I were high school sweethearts. We have been married for 42 years!! We are retired now and loving it! We are entering into a journey to health and have no elusions about how far we have to go!

Other Information:
We have two beautiful married daughters and between the two of them they have given us a total of nine precious grandchildren and a great grandbaby, ranging in age from 2 years to 25 years!! They light up our lives!!

Rather not publish my email address on your page, and can't send it to your sparkmail because it is blocked. Mine was too, and I didn't even know it, but I figured out how to fix it.

From the Start page, look at the top right and you will find your username, hover your mouse over it and when you get the drop-down menu select "account/email preferences".

When the page loads, click the "email" tab.

Scroll to the bottom and uncheck the box for "Never email me again".

Click "Save My Email Preferences"

Hi Cecile! Glad to see you are still on here. I am the "prodigal daughter" sparker, back again after being gone way too long and regaining almost all my weight.

Been back 1 week and lost 5.8 pounds, so feeling good and going strong. This always feels so great, I don't understand why I ever stop! I mean I know in some ways it is hard and temptations are everywhere and that makes it easy to go off plan, but when I live on unhealthy foods and too much time on my sofa I always end up feeling old and fat and achy and sick, and just a few days of giving my body what it really needs makes me feel SO much better...it's just CRAZY to not keep it up!

thanks for the comment about my photo....
I satisfy my sweet tooth I love the sugar free and fat free Kraft pudding cups...love the chocolate, sugar free jello with fresh fruit is good too...
Extra dessert delights gum is good too...measure and weight my dark chocolate ..

I have a Omiron pedometer that I have entered my weight and stride length into and it tells me calories used. I didn't realize it did that at the time I bought it but I really like all the little extras a GOOD pedometer has. It has a leash that I hook to a belt loop, the clip is replacable and so is the battery. The $10 ones would break on me or the battery would go dead. I've had this about 3 years, it is still going strong and I only hav to replace the battery about once a year.
