Finding Health

I have spent a lot of time in my life being overweight, unhealthy, and as a result unhappy.

Being healthy is about doing things that are good for YOUR body. It's a learning process, and I'm still a student. At my highest, non-pregnancy weight, I was 220ish. I've never been afraid of exercise, but I didn't get nearly as much as I should for a long time. Now, as a pretty faithful runner, and licensed Zumba instructor, that part has changed.

I've never been afraid of exercise, but I didn't get nearly as much as I should for a long time. Now, as a pretty faithful runner, and licensed Zumba instructor, that part has changed.

Now, I'm trying my best to eat right for MY body (grain and gluten free) and reach a place where I feel fit, healthy & happy! It's within reach, and I hope to continue educating myself so I can make the most of living!

Thanks for the comment on my blog. I added you as a friend. I wanted to share something with you regarding FB and how some people can be so annoying. My cousin has been dieting for the last two years. (just like me) however, she goes to weight watchers and every week she will post how many pounds or in some cases, ounces she has lost. She has even, on many occasions, posted that she's lost .4 of a lb. Seriously, who cares?! Every friggin week!!! she started to take up running so now, in addition to her pounds lost comments, she also posts how many miles she runs. 2.3 miles, woohoo!! Ugh!!! Someone needs attention! If she wasn't my cousin, I would unfriend her. Instead I just hide her!!

You are much braver then I am! I NEVER weigh in after a cheat day... it's notoriously a super inflated number and seeing that just hurts my progress mentally, which is the worst thing for me!

As long as I'm waking up hungry, I know I'm on track emoticon (And after a cheat day, I am NEVER hungry! LOL)

I am back to doing much better these days. Just dealing with the post effects of antibiotics and prednisone. Plus some residual sinus and ear junk but I'm 99% better.

I don't do well with deprivation anyway. I tend to be a weenie.

First, let me thank you for reading and commenting on my blog. Please let me say that I respect your opinion and your information, but despite the quotes being made in 2006, as has been remarked upon, they didn't make headlines until published from an interview by retail industry analyst Robin Lewis in his book, The New Rules of Retail, which isn't that old. Abercrombie and Fitch, and more directly their CEO has been controversial in his behavior and attitudes for a long, long, time, this is true. I don't see that it matters when he said it, the point is that he did say it and the company still stands by this attitude. Dollars do talk, and of course most of us here would never shop there, but WORDS DO HAVE POWER - especially to those with esteem and body issues already. Not everyone is as strong as you or me in our own convictions and self worth. Advocating against injustice serves everyone, especially those unable to find their voice. If the attitude projected by the company was derogatory towards blacks, gays, disabled persons, mentally ill people, those with scars, those of certain ethnic or religious persuasions, would we care WHEN they said it or tell our daughters to not let it bother us? I don't think so. My blog was my opinion, and it stands. I thank you for yours, as you made some very valid points...but like the clothes at A&F, they don't fit everyone.
