I never had a problem with weight until I became pregnant in 2005, at age 25. I gained 55 pounds. I lost twenty pounds after having my first son, but then, 17 months later, I had my second son. I lost twenty pounds again. I didn't try hard to lose the rest for a while, as life was hectic with two babies. But, in 2010 I had enough. I began a weight loss competition in March and started the Couch to 5K running program in April. By July, I had lost all my "pregnancy weight" and ran my first 5K. I felt AWESOME!!! I was only attending school throughout that time, so it made it easy to keep track of what I ate, and have plenty of time to exercise. When I started a full time job that August, I lost control again and slowly fell back into old habits. I currently am back up to my 2010 starting weight. I am off work for the summer and am currently getting back into my weight loss regimen. My main goal will be to get this weight off once and for all!!! I am going to strive to keep my habits and NOT LOSE CONTROL AGAIN!!! My biggest challenge has been not eating at home. A lot of days we come home, only to leave again before having time to fix a healthy supper, for ballgames, etc. So, I am going to work hard this summer to lose weight and develop a NO-FAIL lifestyle that I can carry through all year, even when times are hectic.

My Goals:
I would like to get down to 125 pounds. When I get to that point I hope that I am physically fit and I hope to be able to maintain that weight. My main focus is on my health. I also want my family to be healthy. My eleven-year-old stepson is obese (according to the CDC) and I would like to impact him in a positive way and help to keep him healthy!

My Program:
It worked in 2010, so it should work now- I tried to keep my daily calorie county between 1000-1200. I trained for a 5K, and I did strength training three times a week. I tried to keep active. I use Spark People to keep track of EVERYTHING I eat. So, that's what I have started doing again, and hopefully I will be successful.

I am a wife and mother of three boys. We live in a beautiful part of rural eastern Kentucky. I work at the local Middle School.

    I'm giving myself major kudos today... I remembered to put the trash out by the curb this morning. This is especially important when you have a week's worth of baby diapers in it! LOL!
