I am 58 years old, married, and the proud mother of Trixie (1 year old GoldenDoodle), DC and Olivia (13 and 5 year old cats that I cater to - thus my screen name). Additionally I have a lovely grown stepdaughter, and play grandmother to her 4 children. I get to have the fun grandparenting part without doing the hard parenting part...good deal!

I have been struggling with my weight since I was 8...it seems to me that a 50 year struggle is too long. I am only 12 to 15 pounds from my goal, and would love to switch from a "dieter" to a "life-styler"...just haven't figured out how yet. Anyway...

I own and operate a small dog grooming business, enjoy reading, walking and hiking.

I rescued Daisy a little over a year ago at the age of 13.....her family no longer wanted pets. She weighs in at 18 pounds and we are trying to work on that. I will have to post a picture of PolyDactyl's paws since she has the true mitten feet (7 toes on each front foot and 5 on the back).

Thank you for the friend add. I have added you also emoticon

Welcome to The Step Diet Team Debbie!

Please watch this very short, very inspirational video, 2 mins 21 seconds:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqAItA-qsX4

The Step Diet is a safe, sane, logical way to progress from where you are, to where you want to go via baby steps, i.e. reaching 10,000 steps a day or more, but only increasing daily walking by 3-5mins ea week to do so. Brenda Willis (shown in the video) did; she lost 140+ lbs on The Step Diet, AND she did it in her mid 40s, AND she has kept it off 7+ years. She had been overweight most of her adult life, and always on a diet, prior to The Step Diet. True Lifestyle Change! There is also a book you can order from Amazon, "The Step Diet"; I haven't been able to find it in secondary (used) book markets but a couple team members have.

This Lifestyle Change is about learning energy balance; how many daily steps equal weightloss; and when you reach the point that you're maintaining, how many steps equal a piece of dessert, etc., so that you can keep it off F-O-R-E-V-E-R. Welcome! Carol

I think you are right. It will help. It did make me more aware of logging exercise for points, something I'd never done before. I hope you enjoy it!
How is it that the more a cat lays around all day and even the chubbier they get, the more everyone just says how beautiful they are? With people, we don't get praised for that, lol.
