Last Round of Weight Loss, Make it a Lasting One

My story is typical: I was a skinny child, put on the College 20, stayed slender through gym and moderate exercise in early adulthood, then piled on the pounds in pregnancy. This is my third "round" of weight loss, and I intend it to be my last.

My Goals:
It would probably be easier if I had an event to look forward to, but I just need to lose weight to feel better. I want to feel less stiffness in my joints, run and move easily, and avoid weight-related ailments like diabetes and heart disease.

My Program:
Jenny Craig since April 2011. I have taken a long time to take off the pounds, but it is also a change in attitude and that takes more time. I like the weekly accountability of Jenny Craig, and the encouragement I get from all the staff at my center.

Other Information:
My Truths about Eating and Weight

--Like any compulsion that drives your life, I will never be done.

--I have the self-control to make good choices and the state of mind to recover from bad ones.

--While 30 to 40 minutes of exercise four to five days a week has many wonderful benefits, it doesn't allow me to eat like a competitive athlete.

--While low-fat is great, when you eat twice the actual portion size, you'll still be eating too many calories!

Today I see my counselor and then my cardiologist. Yesterday, I saw my neurologist and he increased my Cymabalta. It will be decreased onece I become 150 pounds which is 15 pounds away.
