I'm a 28 year old woman who has a pretty stressful but worthwhile office job. I live in DC, have a wonderful wife and two awesome kittens. I love the gym, biking, walking, rock climbing, and lots of other activities, so theoretically, losing weight should be easy. The nutrition side has been my undoing in the past, so I hope to use this site and community to get that in check for long-term success.

I have thyroid issues (hypo), which have certainly contributed to my weight issues. They seem to be under control now, which has let me continue to make progress.

I'm over 5'7", but probably not by enough to call myself 5'8, but I do anyway.

I had been a lifelong vegetarian until about 2 years ago, when I started occasionally eating organic chicken to bring better variety to my diet. I now eat a lot of chicken, and am experimenting with other lean proteins like fish...but i don't think i like it.

I have learned a lot since joining spark, and have put together some goals that will hopefully get me through this!

My Goals:
Primary Goal: Feel Awesome!

I think that will happen somewhere between 150-155 pounds and 19-22% body fat.

Other goals:

Run another half marathon in 2013

Get to "maintenance"

Holidays in 2008 - 198 pounds, BF% definitely over 30%, but who knows by how much.

3/28/11 - 162 pounds & 26.3%BF
1/7/12 - 160.5 pounds & ~24.8% BF

10/15/12 - 163.8 pounds & 25.6% BF

Intermediate goals:
10/25/12 - Goal weight: 163 pounds & 25.2% BF
11/15/12 - Goal weight: 161 pounds & 24% BF
12/20/12 - Goal weight: 158 pounds & 23% BF
1/3/13 - Goal weight: 155 pounds & 22% BF

Total Loss -- 43 pounds! 8% BF!

Biking/walking/running to get most places in the city

Field hockey 2-3x/month

Yoga, Rock Climbing, Hiking, and anything else, whenever I can

Nutrition:

Find goods sources of protein and eat them.

More broccoli!

Preventing my extreme love of chocolate and beer from ruining my good work.

    I went, too, so yay for us! I did 50 mins on the treadmill (combo of walking/running), and 30 mins on the elliptical. I did not get absorbed in any good tv shows and it was all pretty awful, but less awful than yesterday, and tomorrow will be better than today.

    It has to be done, though. :) Have a good evening!

    Thanks for your comment. I spend most of my time on SP on the marrathon team, and it's a very dedicated and motivated group, so I appreciate the confirmation that I am not alone in my derailment. I mean, I logically *know* I'm, but thanks for stepping forward and saying the holidays knocked you off course, too.

    I'm dreading the gym today. DREADING it. But I will go. I have to. You?

    Great point about taking time with it, but actually, when I look at my SP progress chart, I was stagnant til about July of this year, and then when I finally got all the pieces in place, I cruised toward my goal. That's how it worked for me. For 3 years, nothing much happened but down a little and then back up, and once I got out of my own way, vroom, go straight to goal weight, do not pass Go, do not collect $200 (this was better than $200, though!).
